Common Questions About Cremation
Yes. Many families choose to have a traditional viewing and funeral service before cremation. This provides the opportunity for a final goodbye while still choosing cremation as the final disposition.
The cremation process itself takes approximately 2-3 hours. After cooling and processing, the cremated remains are typically ready to be returned to the family within 3-5 business days.
Families have many options including keeping the remains at home in a decorative urn, burial in a cemetery, placement in a columbarium, scattering in a meaningful location, or dividing among family members in keepsake urns.
Many religious faiths now accept cremation, including Catholic, Protestant, and Buddhist traditions. Some faiths have specific requirements about handling the cremated remains. We're happy to discuss your faith's guidelines and help you honor them.
